Deirdre Franklin, a native of Jersey City, New Jersey, has always had a passion for Film and Television in the areas of Acting and Producing since a very early age. Upon graduating from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Finance and Banking, she decided to pursue her dream in the area of Film/Television and Theatre Arts. Angela Bassett is at the top her list of role models and Deirdre is driven to work hard at honing her craft. She was awarded one of the leading roles in African Globe’s production of Love Blues…You’ve Got the Ring, But I’ve Got the Man at the Crossroads Theatre in 2004, and was noted by critics in the Star Ledger to have given a “Riveting performance”. She has starred in My Christ Entertainment’s production of Will The Real Man of God Please Stand Up in 2008 and 2009 and The Battle Is Not Yours in 2010. Deirdre also performed in a leading role in the production of The Candle Party at the Crossroads Theatre in 2011. Deirdre’s film/television credits include the Independent Film, Batina’s World, leading role in B.U.M. Productions, Those People, Under 5 for CBS As The World Turns, and walk on roles for ABC’s All My Children and One Life To Live. Deirdre has studied with the Stella Adler Acting Studio, Turtle Shell Productions, Negro Ensemble Company and New Federal Theatre under the direction of Alice Spivak. Deirdre is thankful for her talents and gifts, divine connections and believes that the best is yet to come!
